Just learned of a VMware Tools command line that I was unaware of and figured I would share it.
If you ever find yourself with a corrupted VMware Tools installation or want to force uninstall the VMware Tools for whatever reason but it refuses to cooperate, open up a command prompt, change to the drive where the VMware Tools files exist and run the following command:
setup.exe /c
Running this command will bring up the following dialog box:
Click Ok and let the uninstaller do its thing. The alternate way of forcefully removing VMware Tools is not pretty, just follow this article:
https://kb.vmware.com/s/article/1001354
Make sure to allocate some time, it is a really manual process.
Also, don’t forget that if you are in a PVS world, no need to reverse image, just follow the process here.
